Christopher Ernie Velasquez

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Christopher Ernie Velasquez who was born on July 22, 1971, in Fresno, California. He left us far too soon on June 30, 2026, leaving a void in our hearts that will never be filled. A lifelong resident of Fresno, Christopher Ernie, fondly known as just Chris to his friends and family, was a man of many talents with a heart as big as his smile.

Chris was a mechanic by profession, and his passion for automobiles was evident. He was our neighborhood's very own 'greasemonkey,' always found under or around cars, fixing them up. He loved the thrill of bringing a faltering engine back to life, the satisfaction of a job well done, the camaraderie of the garage.He worked for a steam cleaner company which he loved and took such pride in the work he did. His last employment was as a Groundskeeper for Dragonfly Golf Course. But beyond his profession, what truly defined Chris was his love for his family and his infectious spirit that made every gathering a celebration. He was the life of the party, a beacon of joy and laughter, a man who made smiles bloom wherever he went.

Surviving Chris are his beloved children, Chris Velasquez Jr., Ulyssa Velasquez and her husband Frank Canel, Leticia Velasquez, and Gabriel Velasquez. Chris is also survived by his brother, Abel Velasquez and sister in law Connie Velasquez, a niece Destiny, and nephews Abel Jr., Isaac, and great nephew Renzo. They, along with countless friends and relatives, will forever cherish the memories of his life. His legacy will live on in the stories they share and the laughter they remember.

A visitation will be held on Friday, July 17, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Rabara Memorial Chapel.
