It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Eduard Altunyan, a beloved father, grandfather, and brother, who left us on June 12, 2026. Born on October 17, 1960, in Armenia, Eduard was a man of strength, endurance, and extraordinary love for his family. He moved to Fresno, California, 25 years ago, where he firmly planted his roots and built a life filled with purpose and meaning.
Eduard was a man of the road, spending 25 years as a respected truck driver in the transportation industry. His life was a testament to the dedication and resilience that he brought to every journey he undertook. Eduard’s love for travel was not limited to his occupation; he carried this passion into his personal life, often taking his family on road trips and adventures. His stories from the road, filled with humor and wisdom, will continue to lighten our hearts and guide us.
Eduard's most significant and enduring achievement was his family. He is survived by his daughters, Marine Altunyan and her husband Gary Mkrtchyan, and Suzy Torosian and her husband Harout Torosian; the mother of his children, Verzhine Fodulyan; his grandchildren, Tony and Edward Mkrtchyan and Nicholas and Ivanna Torosian; and his sister Anahit Altunyan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Marine Altunyan.
Visitation will take place on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at Rabara Memorial Chapel, 916 East Divisadero Street, Fresno, California, at 9:30 a.m. PDT.
A committal service will follow at Masis Ararat Armenian Cemetery, 250 North Hughes Avenue, Fresno, California, at 11:00 a.m.
Eduard's memory will forever be etched in our hearts, and his legacy will continue to inspire us. In his honor, we encourage everyone to visit his memorial page to leave their memories of Eduard and upload photos that capture the essence of this remarkable man.
