With heavy hearts and fond memories, we announce the passing of J. Rosario Arteaga Guzman, who left us on March 20, 2026. Born on January 3, 1964, in Jalisco, Mexico, Rosario was a pillar of strength, a beacon of optimism, and a wellspring of laughter and love.

Rosario spent 30 cherished years in Fresno, where he worked tirelessly in his beloved profession of general construction. His dedication to his craft was only matched by the joy he brought to his colleagues and the homes he helped create. As Henry Ford once said, “The only real security that a man can have in this world is a reserve of knowledge, experience, and ability.” Rosario embodied this spirit, bringing his wealth of knowledge, experience, and innate ability to every project he undertook. His legacy lives on not just in the hearts of those who knew him, but in the very fabric of the community he helped build.

He is survived by his sisters, Veronica Arteaga, Yuliana Arteaga, Yesenia Arteaga, Dalila Arteaga, Maria Arteaga and Lucha Arteaga. He was preceded in death by his father, Maximino Alvarez, and his mother, Celia Mendoza. Rosario's jovial nature, unyielding resilience, and loving spirit will be deeply missed, but forever remembered. As we mourn the loss of Rosario, we also celebrate the life he led, the lives he touched, and the laughter he shared. "To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die," said Thomas Campbell, and Rosario indeed continues to live on in our memories.
