Rosie Marie Trevino
June 28, 1957 – August 23, 2026
Rosie Marie Trevino was born on June 28, 1957, in Fresno, California, and passed away on August 23, 2026, in Fresno, surrounded by the love and memories of a family she cherished so deeply.
Rosie lived a life centered around family, love, service, and faith. She was a woman who found her greatest happiness in caring for others and spending time with the people she loved. Her family was always her priority, and nothing brought her more joy than being surrounded by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and dear friends.
Rosie was preceded in death by her parents, Genaro Trevino Sr. and Francisca “Martina” Martinez; her brother, Jesse Trevino; her beloved son, Roberto “Bobby” Briseño Jr.; and her granddaughter, Reyna Nicole Briseño. Though these losses brought great sorrow to her life, Rosie carried their memories in her heart and continued to share her love with those around her.
She is lovingly survived by her grandson, Rey Briseño, and her two precious great-granddaughters, Ezperanza and Jackie, whom she loved dearly. She is also survived by her brothers, Genaro Trevino Jr. and Jason Trevino; her sister, Elvira Trevino; her stepsister, Susan Murrieta; and many beloved nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends. Each of them was blessed by Rosie's love, kindness, and presence.
Rosie devoted many years of her life to working with children. Beginning in 2004, she worked as a Substitute Bilingual Instructional Assistant for Fresno Unified School District, serving elementary and middle school students. She especially loved working with the little ones and took great pride in helping children learn and grow. Before her career in education, Rosie worked alongside her father at Tri-Boro Fruit Company, where she worked seasonally from 1972 to 2009.
Rosie believed in learning and bettering herself throughout her life. She earned her GED, became a certified multilingual Spanish interpreter, completed office-skills training, and pursued higher education. Her talents also extended far beyond the classroom. In 1988, she earned her Cosmetology Diploma from Federico Beauty College. She had previously earned first place in a nail competition in 1987, and she received a preschool award recognizing her as a “Very Important Parent” in 1984. In 1993, Rosie completed the Wilton Method Basic Cake Decorating Course, earning a Certificate of Merit.
Those accomplishments reflected who Rosie was: creative, determined, hardworking, and always willing to learn something new.
Rosie was also known as a wonderful cook. Her grandson Rey especially loved her homemade chile verde. She enjoyed baking and decorating cakes, and few things made her happier than sharing food with the people she loved. A warm cup of coffee with a little something sweet—or a comforting champurrado—was always welcome.
Family gatherings held a special place in Rosie's heart. She cherished every reunion and treasured simply being in the company of others. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren could always bring a smile to her face. Rosie also loved sending morning messages to family and friends—little greetings such as “Good morning,” “Happy Friday,” “Happy Tuesday,” or “Blessed day.” These simple messages were Rosie's way of reminding the people in her life that they were thought of and loved. She greeted each new day with joy and tried to share some of that sunshine with others.
And when football season came around, everyone knew where Rosie's loyalty stood—she loved her 49ers and was always ready to cheer, “Go team, go!”
Rosie's life cannot be measured only by the years she lived, the places she worked, or the certificates she earned. Her true legacy is found in the people she loved and the countless memories she created with them. She will be remembered for her devotion to family, her generosity, her love of children, her creativity, her cooking, her cheerful messages, and the warmth she brought into the lives of those fortunate enough to know her.
Although her family will deeply miss her voice, her smile, her cooking, her morning messages, and her loving presence, they find comfort in knowing that Rosie is now resting peacefully in the arms of Jesus.
Her love will remain in the hearts of her family forever, and every family gathering, shared meal, morning greeting, and cherished memory will be another beautiful reminder of the remarkable woman they were blessed to call Rosie.
Forever loved. Forever remembered. Forever in our hearts.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the St. Mary's Catholic Church Hall in Sanger on Friday September 4, 2026 at 10:00 am with a burial to follow at Sanger Cemetery.
